Aurogra-ViaQx

Aurogra is a urologist-recommended medication for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and pulmonary hypertension.

In this article, we will explain everything you need to know before using Aurogra. Read on for further information on its uses, mechanism of action, mode of consumption, where to buy it, and what to expect after taking this medicine.

We’ll also look at natural alternatives that could help you avoid needing a prescription.

What is Aurogra?

Aurogra, derived from sildenafil, is a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor class of medication that is commonly prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Aurogra, among others, is a brand name that has sildenafil as its main active component. Viagra, the most popular erectile dysfunction medicine, also contains sildenafil as its active ingredient.

Aurogra is the product of Aurochem Laboratories Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of dermatological and cosmeceutical products from Asia. They have a presence in more than 50 countries worldwide, with WHO-GMP-accredited facilities to manufacture products of international standards.

Aurogra is available to buy online in diamond-shaped blue tablets, usually in a strip containing ten tablets.

Sildenafil is a selective inhibitor of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). This inhibition of PDE5 results in the release of nitric oxide and smooth muscle relaxation in the penile blood vessels. During sexual excitement, it increases blood circulation to initiate and maintain a steady erection.

Sildenafil is a life-changing medication that has improved men’s sexual, physical, and psycho-social health.

The phosphodiesterase enzyme has many subtypes that occur in varying concentrations in the human body. Sildenafil citrate has the highest affinity towards the PDE5 subtype, mainly in the penile smooth muscles, making this the favored medication in treating erectile dysfunction.

What’s the Dose of Aurogra?

Aurogra is available as a tablet containing 100 mg of sildenafil citrate for oral administration.

How to Take This Medicine

In erectile dysfunction (ED) treatment, Aurogra should be consumed as directed by the physician, usually only when needed. It should be taken 30-40 minutes before having sexual intercourse. The effects of this medicine last as long as 5 hours after its ingestion.

The standard daily dosage of Aurogra in ED is 100 mg, and the maximum dose is 100 mg per day.

Aurogra shouldn’t be combined with high quantities of alcohol. The consumption of high-fat foods can significantly delay the onset of action and reduce the effectiveness of this medicine.

How Long Does it Take for Aurogra to Kick In?

Generally, Aurogra takes around 30 to 60 minutes to work after ingestion. The interval between the drug’s intake and the planned sexual intercourse should be at least half an hour.

Aurogra itself doesn’t induce sexual excitement, and it is only effective if taken in a state of sexual arousal. Hence, a healthy diet, regular exercise, and practicing foreplay to achieve sexual excitement are equally important.

How Long Does Aurogra Last?

Once the medicine kicks in, it can last up to 4-5 hours. In some cases, its effect may last longer. Users have reported an improvement in their erections for almost 24 hours after the ingestion of this pill. It means that one can sport an erection for a prolonged period without any effects on ejaculation.

How Much Does Aurogra Cost?

Aurogra can cost from$4 to $5 per 100 mg tablet. This is an affordable alternative to other more popular brands of the same generic drug like Viagra.

The History of Aurogra

Originally introduced as a potential heart medication, the discovery of sildenafil as a potent ED medicine was no less than a miracle.

Multiple clinical trials by the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer in the first half of the 1990s led to the discovery of its effectiveness in treating erectile dysfunction, and was patented in 1996 as sildenafil citrate.

The US FDA approved sildenafil citrate for the treatment of ED in 1998.

The patents protecting the active ingredient of Aurogra, namely sildenafil, from being made by third-party companies as generic drugs have now expired. Once the patent expired, other companies began producing generic forms of the drug at a reduced cost. This dramatically increased the competition, making it possible for the public to buy it at an affordable price.

Who Should Take Aurogra?

Aurogra is indicated in the treatment of impotence or the difficulty to get and or keep an erection. It is only available by prescription from a registered clinician.

The most common reason urologists prescribe Aurogra is for erectile dysfunction caused by medications, diabetes, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, Peyronie’s disease, sleep disorders, and low testosterone.

It has a higher therapeutic index, which means it is a relatively safe drug, but its use does have some risks. A patient needs to consult with their doctor and familiarize themselves with this medicine before using it.

The treating doctor will first assess if you have any current medications that could lead to potential drug interactions or increase the risks of adverse effects.

A prescription is made only after weighing the potential risks and benefits.

Is Aurogra Safe?

Aurogra is generally well-tolerated among users. However, like most medications, it has some potential risks and side effects associated with its uses. Not knowing how much and when to use the medicine is one of the main reasons for side effects. Most of the adverse effects don’t last long and are self-resolving.

Some common side effects of Aurogra may include:

  • Headaches (21% of users)
  • Flushing (19% of users)
  • Indigestion (9% of users)
  • Vision Loss (2% of users)
  • Nasal Congestion (4% of users)
  • Back Pain (4% of users)
  • Dizziness (4% of users)
  • Nausea (3% of users)
  • Rash (2% of users)
  • Muscle Pain (2% of users)

Sildenafil is a prescription-only medication for a reason. Although extremely rare, it does possess the potential of causing an adverse reaction in some people.

Some rare and dangerous side effects of this medicine include the following.

Prolonged Erection

An erection that lasts for 4 hours or longer is called a prolonged erection. Although this symptom isn’t life-threatening, it can lead to priapism if left untreated.

Priapism

Priapism is a prolonged and painful erection lasting more than 6 hours. It is a very severe condition that may lead to permanent damage to the penile tissue resulting in permanent impotence.

Hypersensitivities & Allergic Reactions

A small demographic is noted to experience severe rash after the ingestion of Aurogra. Some users have also reported swelling in the face and throat, leading to breathing difficulties.

Potential Drug Interactions With Aurogra

Aurogra is known to interact with some other prescription drugs. Most of the side effects associated with its use result from negative interactions caused by mixing the drug with other medications.

Some of the common medications that may interact with Aurogra are:

Nitrates

Nitrates are prescribed for the treatment of angina and coronary artery disease. Using sildenafil in combination with these medicines may aggravate their hypotensive effects resulting in dizziness. Some commonly prescribed nitrates are nitroglycerin, isosorbide, nitroprusside, amyl nitrate, and others.

Guanylate Cyclase (GC) Stimulators

Aurogra can interact with GC stimulators used in pulmonary hypertension treatment leading to a rapid drop in blood pressure. It includes medicines such as riociguat.

Anti-Hypertensive Medications

Blood pressure medications are prescribed to control increased blood pressure. However, if  Aurogra is taken in combination with these medicines, it can lead to a rapid lowering of blood pressure.

CYP3A4 Inhibitors

CYP3A4 is an enzyme needed for sildenafil metabolism. Drugs such as ritonavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin, etc., inhibit the enzyme. Hence, using these medicines together can delay the excretion of Aurogra from the body, aggravating its side effects.

Alcohol

Aurogra interacts with alcoholic beverages such as wine, beer, and whisky. Mixing these can cause excess symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, low blood pressure, increased pulse rate, and palpitations.

Antacids

Antacids such as AlternaGEL, Amphojel, Alka-Seltzer, and magnesium hydroxide can decrease the absorption of Aurogra from the gut.

CYP3A4 Inducers

CYP3A4 inducers include medicines like rifampin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital. In contrast to CYP3A4 inhibitors, these medications increase the activity of CYP3A4 enzymes resulting in faster metabolism of Aurogra by the liver. Hence, the drug is cleared too quickly, leaving less than desirable effects.

Who Should Avoid Using Viagra?

Even though Aurogra is a safe medicine for consumption, it isn’t suitable for everyone. This is why this drug can only be ordered with a written prescription from your doctor.

Individuals who should avoid the use of Aurogra are patients with:

  • Certain blood disorders (hemophilia, leukemia, sickle-cell anemia)
  • History of NAION or “crowded” optic disc
  • History of priapism
  • History of sildenafil hypersensitivity
  • Retinitis pigmentosa
  • Severe heart disease or heart valve failure
  • Severe kidney disease

How Does Aurogra Work?

Aurogra works by increasing circulation into the corpus cavernosa of the penis.

The corpora cavernosa receives blood flow from certain penile arteries. Relaxation of the arterial smooth muscles and penile vasodilation causes blood to rush into it, resulting in an erection. Erectile dysfunction occurs when these arteries fail to pump blood into the penile corpus cavernosum.

Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) is a chemical responsible for relaxing these blood vessels in the penis. As long as the cGMP is active and working, erection can occur with sexual stimulation.

In most cases of erectile dysfunction, an enzyme called phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) in the penis breaks down cGMP, resulting in the inability of the penile blood vessels to relax and dilate.

Sildenafil, the active ingredient of Aurogra, works to target and block this PDE5 enzyme [1]. The inhibition of this enzyme from breaking down the cGMP ensures adequate circulation to the penile corpus cavernosum. This assures a successful and prolonged erection without any problem. After ejaculation, the erection vanishes without any adverse effects.

However, for an erection to occur, the medicine should be used in combination with sexual excitement. This medicine doesn’t induce sexual arousal in a person and only works if the person is sexually excited.

Medical Research Involving Aurogra

Sildenafil, the generic form of Aurogra, is one of the most extensively studied ED medicines globally. A review by Goldstein et al. concluded that the approval of sildenafil initiated a global conversation about ED that had profound implications for patients, methods of clinical practice, and academic sexual medicine. These changes will catalyze continued advances in ED treatment [2].

Sildenafil is reported to be an effective and well-tolerated treatment for erectile dysfunction regardless of the patient’s age, including men at least 75 years old [3]. Another study investigating the benefits of regular use of sildenafil vs. sildenafil on-demand found that regular use of this medicine has a therapeutic effect similar to that of tadalafil but better than that of sildenafil on-demand without more adverse effects [4].

Pharmaceutical Alternatives to Aurogra

There are plenty of pharmaceutical options available to treat erectile dysfunction. Some of these medicines contain the generic sildenafil like Aurogra, while others contain various other PDE5 enzyme inhibitors as their main ingredients.

The drugs of other brands that work similarly to Aurogra are:

  • Avanafil (Avaforce, Stendra, Avana)
  • Mirodenafil (Mvix)
  • Sildenafil (Viagra, Cenforce, Kamagra, Fildena, P-Force, Vygex, & more)
  • Tadalafil (Cialis, Adcirca, Vidalista, Tadacip, Forzest, & more)
  • Udenafil (Zydena)
  • Vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn, Vilitra, Zhewitra, Savitra, & more)

Are There Any Natural Alternatives for Aurogra?

Many herbs and natural ingredients have been used to enhance erection and sexual performance for ages. Although there is a lack clinical tests proving their effectiveness, these herbs have a long history of being used as alternative medicines to help with the symptoms of ED.

These alternative medicines can be a good start for anyone with erectile dysfunction who are hesitant to start with prescription medications. You can always switch to pharmaceutical options after consulting a doctor if you see no improvements in your condition, even after using these alternative medicines.

Some of the alternative herbs and supplements commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction are:

Horny goat weed (Epimedium spp.) — This herb contains a substance called icariin, which has the same potential to inhibit PDE5 as Aurogra does [5].

Ginseng (Panax ginseng) — Ginseng is a herb mainly used in Korea for many purposes. It is considered one of the best aphrodisiacs that have been used to help in the treatment of ED[6].

L-Arginine — L-Arginine is converted to nitric oxide within the body, which can then help make cGMP [7].

Where to Buy Aurogra?

Aurogra is strictly a prescription-only medication in most countries. Buying online can be a better alternative as it is more cost-effective, and the medicine is delivered to your door with more discretion.

If you’re searching for an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction, then Aurogra could be the medication that can help you. However, natural alternatives could help, allowing you to avoid an unnecessary prescription.
