Cenforce FM

Cenforce FM is a medication whose key ingredient is sildenafil citrate. Originally used in erectile dysfunction, this version treats sexual arousal disorder in women.

There are a few things you must know before using Cenforce FM. This article will explain everything you need to know about Cenforce FM, such as what it is, how to use it, and how it can help you.

What is Cenforce FM?

Cenforce FM is a drug containing the active ingredient sildenafil citrate. Cenforce FM is manufactured by Centurion Laboratories, a large pharmaceutical company based in India.

It is used in treating female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD), a condition in women where the body does not respond to sexual stimulation, disrupting normal sexual arousal.

Cenforce FM is a phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that may help improve blood flow to female genitalia. Improved blood flow makes the clitoris and the surrounding area of the vagina sensitive to stimulation.

What’s the Dose of Cenforce FM?

Cenforce FM is available in a dose of 100 mg per pill. It comes in packs containing four pink diamond-shaped pills. The maximum dosage is one pill per day.

You should take this medication at least an hour before having sex. It is to be taken only when needed, so daily consumption is not required. It is a prescription-only drug, so you need to get checked by your doctor first.

How Long Does it Take for Cenforce FM To Kick In?

It takes about 20 minutes to an hour for Cenforce FM to work. This timing may change according to the user. Sometimes it can take a bit longer — almost two hours. If you’re a first-time user, remain patient and wait for the drug to work.

How Long Does Cenforce FM Last?

Cenforce FM lasts for 3 to 4 hours, which is a sufficient period for sexual intercourse to take place.

How Much Does Cenforce FM Cost?

Cenforce FM costs $0.75 to 0.92 per tablet. This price is lower compared to other drugs that can treat FSAD.

The History of Cenforce FM

The active ingredient of Cenforce FM, sildenafil citrate was originally developed as a potential heart medication back in 1989. It was developed to treat high blood pressure and angina. Later on, its erection-inducing properties in patients with ED were discovered. This discovery paved the way for a new treatment for ED.

Pfizer had the formula patented in 1996 and approved for use by the FDA in 1998. Sildenafil has also been undergoing research to treat female sexual arousal disorders.

In 2019, the patent expired, meaning other companies could start producing the drug using the same formula but at a lower cost. After this, Centurion laboratories started producing Cenforce FM.

Who Should Take Cenforce FM?

Cenforce FM is for those women who are unable to sport sexual arousal long enough to have sex. It may also be used in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.

Is Cenforce FM Safe?

Cenforce FM is safe for use by most users. However, it needs to be avoided or used with caution in some conditions. Always get yourself checked by a doctor before you use this medication.

Common Side Effects of Cenforce FM

Like most medications, Cenforce FM also has some side effects. Most of these side effects occur when doses higher than recommended are taken.

Here are some of the common side effects of using Cenforce FM:

  • Abnormal vision
  • Back pain
  • Blue tinted vision
  • Dizziness
  • Headaches
  • Hot flushes
  • Muscle pain
  • Nasal congestion
  • Nausea
  • Rash
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Stomach upset
  • Tingling in arms and feet
  • Vision Loss

Interactions With Cenforce FM

Some medications can interact with Cenforce FM. While most of these interactions are mild, others can have life-threatening adverse effects. Let your doctor know beforehand if you are taking any of these medications.

Nitrates

Nitrates, used mainly to treat angina and coronary artery disease treatment can interact with Cenforce FM. This could push blood pressure to extremely low levels.

Guanylate Cyclase (GC) Stimulators

GC Stimulators are used in pulmonary hypertension treatment. They may interact with CenforceFM and rapidly lower blood pressure.

Anti-Hypertensive Medications

Cenforce FM could interact with antihypertensives such as alpha-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, and angiotensin II receptor blockers. This can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure

CYP3A4 Inhibitors

The CYP3A4 enzyme metabolizes Cenforce FM. Drugs that inhibit this enzyme, such as ritonavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole, and erythromycin, could cause Cenforce FM to last longer in the body and cause more side effects.

Alcohol

Cenforce FM can increase the risk of adverse effects of alcohol, such as headaches, vomiting, etc.

Antacids

Antacids can delay the metabolism of Cenforce FM and inhibit its uptake. This can reduce its effects on the body.

CYP3A4 Inducers

These medications, including drugs like rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital, can shorten the metabolism of Cenforce FM in the body and cause fewer pronounced effects.

Who Should Avoid Using Cenforce FM?

Cenforce FM should be avoided by patients with:

  • A history of NAION or “crowded” optic disc
  • Certain blood disorders (hemophilia, leukemia, and sickle-cell anemia)
  • Retinitis pigmentosa
  • Severe heart disease or heart valve failure
  • Severe kidney disease

How Does Cenforce FM Work?

Cenforce FM’s base drug is called sildenafil citrate,  a (PDE5) inhibitor. The PDE5 enzyme exists in the corpora cavernosum, platelets, skeletal muscles, vascular and visceral muscles, and clitoral and vaginal tissues.

In men, during sexual excitement, nerve stimulations occur in the pelvic region. Following this, there is a release of nitric oxide (NO) in and around the penile arteries and cavernous smooth muscles.

Nitric oxide causes an increase in cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which causes the relaxation of the penile smooth muscles and corpus cavernosa. It also increases the blood flow to the penis. As a result, an erection occurs.

PDE5 inhibits the action of cGMP in patients with ED, causing a lack of relaxation of the penile muscles. It leads to a lack of proper blood flow into the penile structures, disabling it from causing an erection.

A PDE5 inhibitor drug counteracts this by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme and relaxing the blood vessels until it is filled with enough blood to cause an erection. It also maintains an erection long enough to have sexual intercourse.

The exact mechanism of action of sildenafil citrate in females is not known. However, since the clitoral and vaginal tissues express nitric oxide synthase isoforms in a way similar to the penile corpus cavernosum, Cenforce FM likely works in this same way in the female genitalia as well [1]. It is believed that sildenafil may increase the blood flow to the vagina and clitoris following sexual stimulation. However, there is not enough research to prove this factor.

However, this medication needs sexual stimulation to work otherwise, it will not be able to work proficiently.

Medical Research Involving Cenforce FM

Sildenafil, the ingredient of Cenforce FM, has plenty of research showing its effectiveness [2].

Research on Cenforce FM is limited simply because it is the same as sildenafil. Once a patent expires, the drugs can be manufactured by many companies at once. There is little research on its use in treating female sexual arousal disorder [3], so evidence and research are still lacking.

Best Cenforce FM Alternatives

There are other alternatives to Cenforce FM. Some of them may use the same active ingredient, while others may have different base materials. Many of them may share a similar mechanism of action. It may be good for you to look around and see what suits you best.

Natural Cenforce FM Alternatives

There are some herbs and nutrients that can help to treat erectile dysfunction. However, most of these substances have not undergone enough scientific studies. You can start with these if you are hesitant to start prescribed medications. If they don’t work, you can always switch to the pharmaceutical ones.

Here are some of the natural herbs and nutrients that may help with ED and PE:

Ginseng — Ginseng extracts have been shown to improve nitric oxide production to promote dilation of the arteries in the penis and clitoris and may help in FSAD [4].

Ginkgo — Gingko may work as a natural aphrodisiac and increase sexual arousal in men and women [5].

Muira puama (Ptychopetalum olacoides) — This herb is used in traditional medicine to treat impotence and improve the lack of sexual desires [6].

Maca — This herb has been traditionally used to boost fertility and sexual desire. It may also help in treating sexual dysfunction in postmenopausal women due to depression [7].
